Shockwave in all his mighty glory. |D Not exactly an interesting pose, but I haven't drawn mecha for too long to try anything difficult. As favorites go, I actually like Soundwave the best, but he was too hard to draw.. ehehe.
I was too lazy to get references beyond some G1 screenshots, so I ended up basing Shockwave's "ears" on what I remembered of Laserwave (Shockblast) from Energon. Hah.. I actually watched subbed Energon just for Laserwave, and also partly from boredom and curiosity.
Edit: Ah, I forgot that I flipped this image to check the errors (he has the cannon on his left arm, not his right.) It's fixed now.
This is drawn in a very nice angle; all the shapes look very nice, and the contour lines look very pleasing to my eye.
I like the particular shading colors you chose for the bright-pink area;it seems to imitate colors of clay. Great use of thicker lines to induce pseudo-depth for the cannon arm [also for the chest area on the left corner]. I always find drawing lines with constant gaps/distance/angel rather difficult, but you always seems to do them at ease.
Must have been fun to study their shapes. Makes me think of all the classic robot shows I used to watch. Thanks for sharing.
